First language matters!
Many Deaf individuals use:
🔹 British Sign Language (BSL) 👐 – A distinct language, not just "visual English."
🔹 Written English 📖 – But phone calls aren’t always an option.
🚨 In a crisis, every second counts. 🚨
❌ No text-direct numbers
❌ No BSL-English bridging services
❌ No text relay without face-to-face interpreters
