Tim is an excellent communicator and together with his affable personality make him a fantastic teacher, interpreter and advocate for the deaf community. I knew Tim through my role as Head of Sixth Form Enrichment at the School in Coventry, where he taught senior pupils British Sign Language (BSL) for beginners. His approach to teaching BSL is fully immersive and he quickly made a good rapport with the pupils. His resources were expertly prepared and well suited to the classroom, and he embraces technology to support the learning experience. Tim tailor made the programme to suit the length of time we had available and pupils were always keen to join his Enrichment sessions. He was integrated into the school community, being fully DBS checked, and staff and pupils alike knew him and welcomed him into the school as one of their usual teachers. I recommend Tim most highly for his professionalism and his communication skills as a teacher and advocate of BSL.

Tim has delivered BSL and Deaf Awareness sessions to year 13 students as part of our weekly Enrichment Programme. His lessons were fun and engaging and he tailored the lessons to meet the needs of different groups. For example, he worked with a group of aspiring medical students and ensure that they were able to understand some common signs that would help in a hospital or GP practice setting.
