As we push forward in developing inclusive communication technologies, this question keeps coming up:
👉 Should we prioritise “Sign to Audio” or “Text to Sign”?
For us, it’s not just about the tech, it’s about access and equity.
📍 Sign to Audio empowers Deaf signers to express themselves to hearing communities in real-time.
📍 Text to Sign helps hearing people communicate back in sign language.
Both are important.
But many in the Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities have shared that being able to express their own thoughts and be heard is the first step toward equity.
That’s why our early focus is on Sign to Audio.
We’re inviting anyone who’s experienced barriers with this kind of communication, Deaf individuals, CODAs, interpreters, and allies, to share their voice.
