📺 Did you know Deaf people in the UK still pay full price for a TV licence — despite facing limited access to content?

There’s no discount for Deaf or severely hard-of-hearing people, even though subtitles are often unreliable and BSL access is minimal.
🔍 Meanwhile, in other countries:
🇮🇪 Ireland: Full exemptions for Deaf people receiving disability support.
🇩🇪 Germany: Reduced broadcasting fees for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
🇸🇪🇳🇴 Nordic countries: Funded through taxes, with national sign languages (e.g., Swedish and Norwegian Sign Language) and captions prioritised

But in the UK?
👁️🗨️ Blind people get a 50% discount.
👂 Deaf people get nothing — despite facing equal or more significant barriers.
Is that fair?
It’s time for the BBC and Ofcom to rethink this seriously.
