ThereāsĀ no discountĀ for Deaf or severely hard-of-hearing people, even though subtitles are often unreliable and BSL access is minimal.
š Meanwhile, in other countries:
š®šŖĀ Ireland:Ā Full exemptions for Deaf people receiving disability support.
š©šŖĀ Germany:Ā Reduced broadcasting fees for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
šøšŖš³š“ Nordic countries: Funded through taxes, with national sign languages (e.g., Swedish and Norwegian Sign Language) and captions prioritised

But in the UK?
šļøāšØļø Blind people get a 50% discount.
š Deaf people getĀ nothingĀ ā despite facingĀ equal or more significant barriers.
Is that fair?
Itās time for theĀ BBC and OfcomĀ to rethink this seriously.
